3rd edition of the TATA STEEL KOLKATA 25K : Sunday 18th December, 2016

Today, running is one of the fastest growing sport and the most popular participative sport in the county. Adding to the sporting culture of Kolkata, Procam International brought more joy to the city of joy with its first unique distance running event, India’s premier Tata Steel Kolkata 25K in 2014. India’s first accredited AIMS accredited 25Kms, focused on Indian running talent, giving India’s professional and amateur runners from Kolkata and around the country a proven platform to showcase their talent and experience the rarefied atmosphere that pervades a sporting event.

With the grand success of the first two editions with over 12000 participants, 23 lakhs in prize money and over Rs 1.10 crores raised for Charity, the event is back to be bigger and better. Endorsed by some of the prolific names from the Tollywood industry, the third edition of the event, will witness Sourav Ganguly as the Face of the Event.

Race categories included the 25K (elite and amateurs), Open 10K (amateurs), Ananda Run (6 km), Senior Citizens’ Run (4 km), and Champions with Disability (4 km). The 25K and Open 10K are compulsorily timed race categories, certifying a runners’ timing and recognized in running circles throughout the world

With the grand success of the 1st two edition, Tata Steel Kolkata (TSK) 25K is back with the 3nd edition to take Kolkata by storm. Scheduled for Sunday, 18th December 2016, the marathon will unlock an exciting new challenge to test the fitness and endurance of India’s finest professional athletes, amateur runners, fitness and health enthusiasts.

Procam International has reinforced its position as not just the Premiere running event promoter and organizer in India, but also as offering the largest charity platforms in the country through its running events. Charity forms an integral part of distance running and this platform provides an opportunity to partners and sponsors to forge their CSR initiatives and create an enriching and socially productive channel of the event. Over the years, the fundraising platform has assumed a stature of eminence of being the single largest philanthropic sporting event in India. 400 NGOs have successfully raised over INR 134 crores over the past 12 editions.

The Airtel Delhi Half Marathon (ADHM) rated as the World’s most prestigious Half Marathon lends an opportunity for all NGOs to ‘raise friends and therefore raise funds’, under the supervision of India Cares Foundation, Event’s official Philanthropy Partner. In the last 10 years of the Event, over 150 NGOs have on an aggregate raised INR 25.59 crores for their various projects. Over the last ten years, India Cares has worked with over 150 NGOs. Through the platform of TCS World 10K Bengaluru, in the last 5 editions over 200 NGOs have raised INR 20.28 crore.

Tata Steel Kolkata 25K, in its third year, had generated almost a crore INR for the 36 NGOs before the last round of spot registrations started.

The total amount raised across all 4 events till date is almost INR 180 crores.

Acclaimed artist Washim Kapoor along with other noted artists like Debashish Mullick Chowdhury, Anjan Bhattacharya, Vani Chawla, Shubla Verma, Rintu Roy Chowdhury, Usha Ranjan Mondal, Pranab Roy and Madhumita showed their magic on canvas and supported various causes. The proceeds from the funds raised will go to the participating charities.
