Mentaid

MENTAID is the first registered parents’ organisation in West Bengal (1986).
MENTAID’s mission is to improve the quality of life for persons with intellectual and developmental disability by providing a range of services to meet their needs.
MENTAID aims to promote personal choice and independence and encourages full participation and integration in the community

METAID’s work has won for it “Best Parents Organisation for the dedicated service for the cause of disabities” from the Government of West Bengal and the “Special Jury Felicitation-Spandan Awards" from National Trust

MENTAID was chosen as one of three examples of Good Practice in the country by inclusion International for its parent initiative, resource management and self advocacy. One Self Advocate of MENTAID was the only Self Advocate representing India at the Global Forum for Inclusion, at Ottawa, Canada.
