The extremely severe cyclonic storm ‘Cyclone Amphan’, with wind speeds touching 185 kmph, made landfalls in Digha a small town in East Medinipur district, Bengal, on May 20, 2020. The cyclone created total devastation in many districts and thousands of families have been evacuated from the areas in the path of the cyclone and moved to Cyclone shelters. The wrath of cyclone coupled with the impact of COVID-19 pandemic have increased their vulnerabilities further more.
